Blaze interrupts work at Jentech

A huge fire caused the whole of the Jentech offices to be left unattended today, 13th September, after the building had to be evacuated.

Just a few feet from the Jentech HQ a fire roared out of control in an old factory building. Had the fire not been brought under control by the firefighters it would have undoubtedly reached the Jentech offices.

Fortunately, no one was harmed by the fire which was even closer to the offices of the Citizens Advice Bureau (whose building did catch fire).

After it was obvious that the Jentech staff would not be able to return to their building until much later in the day, they continued to work as best they could from the nearby house of MD Alan Vincent .

As we say on our Gold Maintenance Contract page, fire can happen to anyone, and it nearly happened to us! This event has served to underline the importance of having strong Information Security procedures and policies in place. Had the fire reach our building, would we have been able to carry on working within days? Would the Citizens Advice Bureau if the fire had taken their building and all it contents?

And what about your business? Could it survive a fire? The answer is already 'no' if you have not even considered the possibility.

Read the material on our Gold Maintenance Contract page. Even if you implement just a few of the points listed there, your chances of recovering from disaster have greatly increased .
